The primary purpose of this job is to perform maintenance work orders such as repairs of equipment, resident requests and maintaining the facility including other duties as directed by supervisor. Actively communicates with and supports environmental services and all other community departments.

Duties include but not limited :
*Accept work orders for general repairs and completes them according to priority as assigned by the maintenance supervisor
*Asks for assistance from a Maintenance Mechanic 2 or Lead Mechanic, or the Maintenance Supervisor when needed.
*Responds to all emergencies, fire alarms and declared disasters.
*Maintains the campus facilities as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Facilities, and/or the Executive Director.
*Keeps Maintenance Supervisor informed of supply needs.
*Keeps time and materials records current including daily logs, work orders, and other documentation.
*Advises supervisor of any unsafe practices, equipment, facilities or conditions.
*Installs, inspects and responds to complaints regarding equipment, campus facilities and system malfunctions.
*Assists with Apartment makeovers as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
*Maintains proper care and use of tools and equipment.
*Maintains clean/neat work area.
*Operates vehicles/equipment when necessary in a safe manner to provide deliveries, pick-ups, snow plowing and shoveling.
*Performs duties as required on assigned work shifts.
*Regularly communicates with and supports Environmental Services during comprehensive cleaning.
*Performs preventative and day-to-day maintenance and repairs to keep the building and equipment items in good working condition, under the supervision and guidance of Maintenance Mechanic 2 and Lead Mechanic, and of the Maintenance Supervisor.
*Assists in the maintenance of the departmental supply and spare parts inventory and informs Maintenance Supervisor when items need to be ordered
*Attends departmental staff meetings and in services.
Education & Experience:
Minimum High School diploma or GED with two years preventative maintenance, inspection and/or repair of equipment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
