Cook- Full Time

At the Highlands Living Center we are looking for a full time cook that will assist with food preparation duties ie. Cooking, prep cooking, serving, cleaning, etc.

Shift times are during the week 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, and every other weekend 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Performance Outcomes:
  • Maintains workstation and equipment.
  • Cooks main entrée on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to organize prep lists for daily production as well as organize and setup steam table.
  • Monitors staff compliance with production, food safety, and sanitation.
  • Communicates employee concerns/issues to Director.
  • Produces food products as indemnified on food production records or otherwise instructed.
  • Assists in answering phone prior to/after tray line, for call-downs, as well as assist in taking call down items to the appropriate floors.
  • Effectively utilizes established procedures for meal service, food production records, food preparation, sanitation, and safety.
  • Organizes and rotates all coolers and freezers on a daily basis to maintain stack and ensure freshness.
  • Assists director with putting away orders when they arrive.
  • Organize and set up preparation carts for fallowing days.
  • Works within all state, county and federal food safety guidelines regarding food production, food storage, and sanitation
  • Maintains all time and temperature records in accordance to procedure.
  • Observes proper technique and service to ensure appropriate cost control.
  • Performs assigned cleaning, as well as completion or end of shift assignments.
  • Assists as needed in all projects, special events, monthly and daily activities.
  • Fallow all safety procedures involving the use and disposal or cleaning chemicals in accordance to their SDS sheets.
  • Remain flexible and ready to assume other responsibilities and duties as assigned (example: floor stocking, working tray line, pot washing etc.)

Pay Range: $17.00-25.50/hr (based off experience listed on resume)
