I.T Technician
The Highlands at Pittsford, Rochester’s only University based retirement community, has an exciting and dynamic career opportunity available as it seeks to fill the role of an I.T Technician.
The primary purpose of this job is to assist with all aspects of IT Applications used within the Highlands at Pittsford Campus, including the Highlands Living Center (see list below). This role will provide operational support to residents and staff for all technology-related issues on the HAP campus, working closely with the IT Applications Coordinator maintaining expertise in current desktop and networking technologies.
Applications
- Applications including but not limited to: WorxHub, Resident Portal (Cubigo), eScreenz, MatrixCare, Full Count – (Point of Sale), scheduling softwares, etc. (and additional programs or similar replacement programs).
- Assist with the technology training/education of HAP staff and residents of the campus.
- Troubleshoot resident and staff issues and proactively drive resolution, working closely with IT Applications Coordinator
- Diagnose and resolve end-user problems.
- Maintain awareness and organization of current assignments, allocated efforts, and project deadlines.
Information Technology
- Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance with HAP’s computerized systems or PCs.
- Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist PC users.
- Assist in the coordination of software installation and upgrades with software vendors.
- Supports HAP residents with troubleshooting various modes of technology (landline phones, cellular phones, computers, tablets, printers, television, Wi-Fi, etc.
- Remain in compliance with Information Systems Department on all technology related issues.
- Assists in Identifying any individualized and/or group training as needed at various levels.
- Assists with the troubleshooting of cell phones/smart phones, digital signage technology, AV equipment, tablets and iPads, etc.
- Assists in any technology audits, reporting and technology budget development process.
- Adheres to internal policies & procedures.
- Adheres to the University of Rochester’s computer policies and procedures set by URMC’s Information Systems Division.
NE, Pay Range: $17.50per hr.- $26.00 per hr.
Education & Experience:
- Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, Associate’s degree preferred in related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of experience.
- Must have a high school diploma and or GED equivalent. Associates degree in related technical discipline is a plus! Requires a minimum of 2 years of intermediate knowledge of PC and Windows expertise and understanding with the interest and ability to work with a large variety of technical platforms. Required basic understanding of Apple and Android devices. Requires patience and a willingness to work with repetition
