Clinical Dietitian

We are looking for an Clinical Dietitian to join our fine dining team.

We are a 122-bed skilled nursing facility affiliated with URMC. The primary purpose of this position is to directly supervise charge nurse, team leaders, and resident aides. Indirectly supervises nursing assistants.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure and provide nutritional supervision, and consultation for all residents.

Responsible for nutritional assessment, documentation, and education of all residents as directed by physician orders, departmental policy and procedure, and staff recommendations with regard to the resident’s needs and
preferences.

  • Coordinates with the Director and Manager of Clinical Nutrition to assure nutritional requirements are being addressed for all residents, especially those at high nutritional risk.
  • Educates residents and monitors the quality of nutritional care provided to residents.
  • Conducts initial interview and complete nutritional assessment, diet implementation and comprehensive care plans to assure the resident’s dietary needs are being met.
  • Consults with the physicians, nursing staff and other disciplines concerning the normal and therapeutic nutritional needs of residents.
  • Completes required documentation, per NYS policy, relating to resident’s nutritional status. Is familiar with RMS system and up-dates care plans as needed.
  • Attends scheduled interdisciplinary care meetings and in-services as required.
  • Review and up-date the menu cycle to meet Recommended Dietary Allowances and reflect resident’s preference, eating patterns and medical needs.

Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian. BS or MS with major studies in food and nutrition. Minimum 1-year experience in clinical nutrition/geriatric nutrition at a long-term care facility. Familiar with MDS, NYSDOH standards.

Pay Range: $59,280-$88,290 per year.
